Hello Guys & guls,Do U feel that we should join the social networking sites to be truly social?

Today we have many network sites like orkut,classmates.com,ibobo (I suppose) where we can make new friends,chat and lots more.Can we say that a person is not social or friendly if he is not a member of any of these...Is the friendship shared on these a true one and longlasting!?I have not yet joined any of these networks..My decision of -join or not to join- depends on Ur views and suggestions.So frendz please make Ur comments from Ur experience and views. :-)

just coz a person doesnt any social networking sites doesnt mean that he/she isnt social. its just one of the various means of socializing...keeping in touch.

i am a member of some of d sites n i havent found very useful...its helped me in getting to know some acquaintances more...thats it. and i personally dont feel that these sites help us in making any long lasting friendships

"It's social. Demented and sad, but social."

I belong to such sites, but I don't give them much creedence. Some people are more real online, some less, but it doesn't replace actual, live interaction with real friends and family in person, methinks.

Oh, and I prefer cleaner sites, like His Holy Space over MySpace any day. MySpace is a cesspool of spam and porn, honestly.

Well i am a member of orkut %26amp; batchmates %26amp; i am very happy..

Now i have met all my class-mates of 11 class from these two sites.It actually increased my social network.

I enjoy here %26amp; discuss everything with my old pals.

I never expected that i will meet my old friends on these sites..

Thank god finally i met my old pals.

No social networking sites are not truly social,most young boys are here for having fun %26amp; dating girls,they are not intrested in true friendship.I had joined Facebook %26amp; Tagged where i received many friendship offers, i accepted a select few[after reading their profile], but to my surprise i found that all were intrested in flirting, dating %26amp; god knows what more, when i told them i was not a girl of that type ,they called me AUNTYJI, BEHANJI.....%26amp; they discontinued friendship.
